There’s a poem I recently read – and I am not sure how I’ve not read it until now or read the author, Mary Oliver until now but it left an impression – and I will carry it with me every time we visit the ocean. Today we went to the beach and the sibling rivalry was REAL. I felt stressed yet inspired to make my own version of Mary Oliver’s  I Go Down to the Shore.

I go down to the shore in the morning
and depending on the hour the waves
are rolling in or moving out,
and I say, oh, I am miserable,
what shall–
what should I do? And the sea says
in its lovely voice:
Excuse me, I have work to do.

I Go Down To The Shore
